The pandemic put landlords on the spot. While many were forced to raise rent prices to keep things going, others decided to do it simply because of their greed. Renters were left with no other option but to oblige, and many were forced to return to their parent’s homes or, even worse, end up on the streets.

Some tenants played back by asking their landlords to consider replacing their rental income by getting a job! Continuing to pay property-related fees for an empty unit is not ideal.
