Barbie Pink Lakes
It’s not Photoshop, and that’s a pinky promise! The lake in the picture is real and is called Lake Hillier. It’s one of the many astounding pink lakes in the land down under, and it can be found on the edge of the remote Middle Island, off the coast of Western Australia.
A saline lake, Lake Hillier, is pink due to a combination of algae and microbes. It’s possible—albeit not advisable—to swim in Lake Hillier, but this natural wonder can only be visited by plane (six daily flights part from Esperance Airport) and cruise.
