Unseen Australia – The World’s Best, Scariest Country Is a Land Like No Other

Egg Moms

Australia is the sort of place where nature’s turned inside out, so it’s no surprise the country’s home to the only two species of mammals that lay eggs. They’re the echidna and the duck-billed platypus, and they were the dominating mammals in the land down under up until those cheeky marsupials arrived!

The echidna is a little quill-covered, egg-laying mammal, while the duck-billed platypus is a semi-aquatic, duck-resembling mammal with a big beak. In pop culture, the platypus was made famous by the character of ‘Perry the Platypus,’ from the hit animation series “Phineas and Ferb.”
