Carly Foulkes – T-Mobile Girl
Business Insider journalist Laura Stampler has described Carly Foulkes as “one of the most recognizable brand spokespeople.” This wasn’t easy for the Canadian actress because her predecessor was Catherine Zeta-Jones. She started appearing in ads for T-mobile in 2010 wearing a pink dress and gained recognition for her character.
But in 2012, T-mobile thought she needed rebranding, and hence came the character “Alter Ego” featuring Foulkes as a leather jacket-wearing biker girl. In a statement, the company said that this was supposed to represent the “speed and capabilities” of their 4G network and their new role focusing on “challenging the status quo and taking bold steps in the marketplace.”
