Stephanie Courtney – Flo from Progressive

Stephanie Courtney has appeared in over 100 commercials for the insurance company Progressive. She plays Flo, an owner of an imaginary store selling insurance where she pitches policies to customers. Her character gained immense popularity, leading to Progressive launching, tempting people with an appearance alongside her.

In 2010, Progressive launched an advert where Flo tells consumers she could “use a little help,” encouraging them to participate in a contest to find her new helper. Those interested could upload video auditions to a website, where ten of the best actors would be narrowed down. They would then be reduced to three by public voting. Those three were flown out for live try-outs in Los Angeles with Courtney.
