Vince Shlomi / Vince Offer – ShamWow Guy
Vince Shlomi’s way of pitching innovative products has been described as “smooth-talking condescension” by Seth Stevenson of Slate. His first ad came with selling an absorbent towel that he had named “ShamWow.” He had discovered the product at a flea market and went on to visit the factory in Germany that manufactured the product.
Initially, the product claimed to absorb 20 times its weight, then 12 times, and finally ten times. A Consumer Report test found that the ten times claim was accurate; the others were not. Since then, Shlomi has advertised other products such as kitchen utensils, Slap Chop and Crank Chop, lint roller Schticky, and cleaning agent InVinceable.
