Jay Z – Samsung Galaxy

Jay-Z’s collaboration with Samsung for the release of his much-anticipated album “Magna Carta Holy Grail” was part of a broader deal between Roc Nation and Samsung. As part of the deal, Samsung gave away one million free copies of the album to new Samsung users.

Buyers of Galaxy S III, Galaxy S4, and Galaxy Note II models would have access to the album three days before other people could listen. It is alleged that the deal was worth $20 million, with Samsung paying the “Watch The Throne” rapper $5 for each album. On July 4, the release day, Samsung’s servers could not deal with the traffic influx!
