In 2003, Rapper 50 Cent entered the style game by releasing his line of clothes and accessories in collaboration with Ecko Unltd. Ecko was said to be handling the merchandising and marketing of the products while the “In da Club” hitmaker retained complete ownership of the brand.

This allowed 50 Cent to end briefly end the partnership with Ecko in 2008, though they reunited again for a Spring 2009 collection. The collection can be shopped online and has, since its first launch, grossed $100 million in sales. Founder Marc Ecko compared this collaboration to the team-up of basketball star Michael Jordon and Nike to create Air Jordons.
