There’s a common misconception that a flyer’s job is easier than a base. Although base positions have the strenuous duty of lifting, catching, and keeping the flyer safe, the flyer role also requires substantial physical exertion. Flyers must repeatedly rehearse how to stand securely with their leg locked. They must build strength in their legs and backs to maximize flexibility.
