Wayne Newton – Age 79
With more than five decades as Las Vegas’s in-house performer, Carson Wayne Newton is one of the most entertaining performers of the golden era still alive today. The Hello Dolly singer began his professional music career at the age of six, before forming a rock duo with his brother Jerry in the mid-’50s.
Following the release of his hit song, Daddy Don’t You Walk So Fast, Newton pivoted from making hits to giving unforgettable performances for a $1 million monthly paycheck in Las Vegas. Although Newton has been on a hiatus since 2020, he did make a big-screen appearance in the 2020 drama flick Stealing Chaplin.
