Jack Thompson – Age 70

Films like “Mad Max” and “Crocodile Dundee” are some of Australia’s most popular films. They were part of what is known as the Australian New Wave, a resurgence in popularity of Australian films which occurred in the ’70s and ’80s. One of the key figures in this era is  Jack Thompson.

He is renowned for his roles in “The Club” and “Sunday Too Far Away” and also won Cannes and AFI awards for his role in “Petersen.” His reputation has been rewarded with an honorary membership to the Australian Cinematographers Society and in 2020 had a role in a film called “High Ground.”
