Gretchen Whitmer and Marc Mallory – Together Since 2011

When Michigan’s Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Dr. Marc Mallory tied the knot in 2011, they blended their lives and their families, too! With Gretchen’s two daughters and Marc’s three sons from previous marriages, the couple has raised five children together.

Marc, a retired dentist, has kept a low profile while supporting his wife’s political career. He even stepped back from his practice in 2023 due to the pressure that came with her position. As Michigan’s First Gentleman, he’s been her biggest cheerleader, keeping their family life strong despite the spotlight. Meanwhile, Gretchen has led the state through the challenges of the pandemic and is pushing for critical infrastructure reform.
