Nikki and Michael Haley – Together Since 1996

Nikki and Michael Haley’s love story began in 1989 at Clemson University, where they met as college students. Their connection was immediate, and they married in 1996 in both Sikh and Methodist ceremonies, honoring their diverse cultural backgrounds. The couple has two children: Rena and Nalin.​

Nikki, born to Indian immigrant parents, served as the first female and first minority governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017. She later became the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations under President Donald Trump. Michael, a Major in the South Carolina Army National Guard, was deployed to Afghanistan in 2013 and again in 2023 to Djibouti, Africa.
