Pete and Chasten Buttigieg – Together Since 2015

In the summer of 2015, Pete and Chasten Buttigieg connected on the dating app Hinge. Their first date in August was a hit, leading to an engagement at O’Hare International Airport in December 2017 and a wedding on June 16, 2018, in South Bend, Indiana. The couple has two children: twins Penelope Rose and Joseph August, whom they adopted in August 2021.

Pete, a former U.S. Secretary of Transportation, and Chasten, a middle school teacher, have balanced their public lives with family time, including attending the 2023 White House Easter Egg Roll. Inspired by their family life, Chasten has authored a memoir and a children’s book, “Papa’s Coming Home. ”
