JOAN BLACKMAN – BLUE HAWAII, 1961
Joan Blackman made her acting debut as a 19-year-old in the 1959 film “Good Day for a Hanging.” Her incredible talent and determination earned her a role in “Blue Hawaii,” a 1961 movie in which she played Maile Duval.
The film was Blackman’s breakthrough, and despite receiving mixed reviews, it ranked as one of the top ten grossing films of 1961. It also won fourth place in the Laurel Award category in 1961. The “Visit to a Small Planet” actress enjoyed shooting most of the scenes and couldn’t get enough of this two-piece swimwear as she enjoyed romantic moments with her set-lover Elvis, who wore white swimming trunks.
