SOPHIA LOREN – MADAME SANS GENE, 1961
Sophia Loren is widely considered to be one of the greatest female actors of Classical Hollywood cinema. In fact, she’s the only surviving star from the Golden Age of Hollywood as of 2022. The “Millionairess” actress made her acting debut in 1950, and her breakthrough came with the 1954 film “The Gold of Naples.” She became well-known when she appeared in the 1961 film “Madame Sans-Gêne.”
Playing the role of Catherine Hubscher, Loren’s glamorous glimpse in the film made it a benchmark for many. The “Sunflower” actress wore a black full-piece bathing suit and a straw sun hat as she stood on a boat when she was taking a break from filming.
