Joe Biden and Jill Biden – Together Since 1977

Joe and Jill Biden’s love story began in 1975 when Joe, a U.S. Senator and widower, met Jill, a college student, on a blind date arranged by his brother. Their connection was immediate, but she initially hesitated to marry him, concerned about stepping into the role of a mother to his two young sons.

After five proposals, she said yes. They married on June 17, 1977, in New York City at the United Nations Chapel. Together, they have one daughter, Ashley Biden, born in 1981. Joe had two sons from his first marriage: Beau, who tragically passed away in 2015, and Hunter.
