Ben and Candy Carson – Together Since 1975
Ben and Candy Carson’s love story began in 1971 at Yale University, where they met as students. Candy, a Detroit native and concert violinist, was drawn to Ben’s intellect and ambition. Their connection deepened over time, leading to their marriage in 1975. Together, they have three sons: Murray, Benjamin Jr., and Royceon. Shared values and a commitment to service have marked their family life.
Professionally, Ben has served as the U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Donald Trump. Candy, an author and educator, co-founded the Carson Scholars Fund in 1994, which awards scholarships to students for academic excellence and humanitarian qualities.
