Ben and Candy Carson – Together Since 1975

Ben and Candy Carson’s love story began in 1971 at Yale University, where they met as students. Candy, a Detroit native and concert violinist, was drawn to Ben’s intellect and ambition. Their connection deepened over time, leading to their marriage in 1975.​ Together, they have three sons: Murray, Benjamin Jr., and Royceon. Shared values and a commitment to service have marked their family life.​

Professionally, Ben has served as the U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Donald Trump. Candy, an author and educator, co-founded the Carson Scholars Fund in 1994, which awards scholarships to students for academic excellence and humanitarian qualities.
