John Hurt

This list wouldn’t be complete without John Hurt appearing on it. The veteran actor had an incredibly successful career that spanned over five decades and involved over 100 films and television series. His most notable works include Midnight Express and The Elephant Man, which earned him Academy Awards.

For his services to drama, John was knighted in 2015 and is today widely regarded among Britain’s magnificent actors. Sadly, the veteran filmmaker passed on in 2017 after suffering from pancreatic cancer. While he might be gone, his impact in the film industry will always remain.
