Kathy Bates
Kathy Bates began acting at a young age in her high school theatre. She always had an unwavering mindset to rise, knowing it takes great dedication to fulfill dreams. To do so, Kathy regularly took little jobs to help fund her auditions, and in 1970 she made her professional theater debut in the play Lemon Sky.
She eventually entered films in 1971 after starring in Taking Off, which wasn’t a success. After a seven-year hiatus from Hollywood, Kathy returned to acting and broke records with her role in the classic horror Misery; the film brought her critical acclaim, a growing fandom, and countless awards.
