Today, Morgan Freeman’s rich and profoundly sonorous voice is iconic. Yet few know that this legend studied arts and theater in Los Angeles and struggled to land stage roles for a long time before anything worthwhile happened in his career.

Morgan’s first break came with the hit children’s series The Electric Company in the ’70s. Before then, he’d struggled to find any lasting acclaim and steady work.
