A Sloppy Wild Ride…

It is never easy to move about in a wheelchair, but when faced with slopes like this, it becomes much more difficult (perhaps even impossible). It appears to be a rollercoaster ride rather than a slalom due to the lack of rails and the extremely steep slope.

It’s safe to assume that this does not adhere to the standards established by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to ensure that public spaces are accessible to all. According to the design specification posted on the UN portal, the safe maximum ramp slope is 1:20. Indeed, better than that is the one in this image!
