Follow the Leader

In some areas, drivers pack their cars haphazardly, taking cues from one another. At first sight of this photo, it could seem as though every car on this Romanian roadway has decided to rebel against the posted parking regulations. But it turns out that those slanted white lines are no parking spaces but hatching road markers.

For the safety of drivers, hatching road markings are employed to divide traffic lanes into unknown areas. However, these drivers should reconsider where they park and how they do it. Parking fines don’t influence how much a person pays for auto insurance; unpaid ones might, though.
