It’s Actually Freezing
Russian winters can be brutally cold, with temperatures dropping well below freezing. People here have even made videos of throwing boiling water out of their windows, where it instantly freezes in mid-air. The cold here is no joke, with some areas experiencing temperatures as low as -89.9ºF. In such extreme temperatures, metal can become so brittle that it snaps under pressure.
To survive the winter in Russia, locals have developed certain skills, like knowing how to layer clothing to trap heat and how to keep themselves and their vehicles warm. Additionally, many of their homes have central heating systems to combat the extreme cold.
