Thelma Barlow – 91

Thelma Barlow breathed life into the character of Mavis Wilton in Coronation Street for over two decades. The last time she portrayed her was in 1997 when Wilton left for the Lake District after her on-screen hubby Derek, played by Peter Baldwin, passed away.

Barlow has been asked twice or thrice through the years to go back to Corrie by its producers, but the English TV star always refused. Apart from the long-running ITV soap opera, she’s also known for starring in the sitcom dinnerladies as Dolly Bellfield. The last project on her IMDb page is 2016’s Florence Foster Jenkins.
