Initially Left Out of the “Saved by the Bell” Reboot

When the classic sitcom “Saved by the Bell” made a return in 2020, many fans were surprised to learn ‘Lisa Turtle’ was left out. The actress behind the iconic character, Lark Voorhies, admitted she felt hurt and disappointed by it, while also acknowledging her mental health issues made it hard for her to work in Hollywood at the highest level.

Voorhies’s remarks ended up having an impact, though, as she was eventually cast to appear in three episodes of the reboot series. She returned to the screen as ‘Lisa Turtle’ in 2020 and 2021 despite being away from acting since 2012.
