Shirley Cheriton – Debbie Wilkins from EastEnders

When the gorgeous Shirley Cheriton landed the part of Debbie Wilkins in EastEnders, she already was a well-established British actress. She was known for her appearances in Angels and Raven and looked great in the shoes of a snobby character who was a bit too much for the good, working-class people of Albert Square (EastEnders’ fictional borough).

Cheriton left EastEnders in 1987 to pursue other roles and made it most notably to Grace & Saviour. She has virtually disappeared from show business since 2009 and, while she never made it official, she’s most likely retired by now. Still a looker, Cheriton has recently celebrated her 66th birthday.
