Julie Goodyear – Bet Lynch from Coronation Street
It’s been a while since we last heard of Julie Goodyear. The charming British actress spent a quarter of a century portraying Bet Lynch in Coronation Street, and her character was so popular it’s hard to imagine her doing anything else! She left Coronation Street in 2003 and hasn’t returned to acting since the 2006 short, Tug of War.
In 2019, she was featured in the TV special documentary Coronation Street at Christmas. Still looking lovely at the advanced age of 79, Goodyear’s biggest claim to fame is that her Coronation Street character inspired the flamboyant look Freddie Mercury wore in the music video to “I Want To Break Free.”
