Like Mother Like Daughter

We love how this young lady brought her mother’s prom dress into the modern era. Her mom tweeted a throwback photo of herself in the outfit from 1990, and then her daughter wore the same clothing more than two decades later, albeit with a few updates.

Flowers remained on the daughter’s front, but the white, puffy shoulders popular in the ’90s didn’t make the cut for 2014. White straps were used in their place to simplify the garment without sacrificing its posh style. Puff sleeves, which have made a reappearance everywhere from the runway to every Instagram influencer, are something she might have worn if this were today.
