Joining the Army

By the late 1950s, Elvis Presley was already successful in his singing career and he has managed to pursue acting as well. Despite his fame and success, Presley still made a choice to join the United States Army in 1958. He was a Private and people said that Elvis always wanted everyone in the Army to treat him like he was just an ordinary person. Whatever money he earned from the Army was all donated to charity.
