Eileen Derbyshire – 89, Urmston

Eileen Derbyshire was among the cast members of Coronation Street that stayed in the soap opera for decades. She gave life to the role of Emily Bishop for more than five decades, with her final appearance happening in 2019. The show was one out of the two acting projects she had in her life.

After earning a teaching degree, Derbyshire initially worked as a drama and speech teacher. She also spent some time as an assistant stage manager for Chorlton Repertory Theatre. The year 2021 has been a tough one for her because her husband, Thomas W. Holt, passed away.
