PAM GRIER – COFFY, 1973

Quentin Tarantino, a popular filmmaker, once described actress Pam Grier as the first female action star in cinema, thanks to her versatility in women in prison, action, and blaxploitation works. Her fame came in the ’70s with a string of appearances in films such as “Women in Cages,” “Just Wright,” and “Friday Foster.”

However, Grier is perhaps more popular for her starring roles in “Foxy Brown” and “Coffy,” the latter coming in 1973, where she played the vengeful nurse, Flower Child “Coffy” Coffin. The “Black Mama, White Mama” actress is spotted here in white swimwear relaxing at a resort while probably going over her lines.
