Wendy Richard – Pauline Fowler from EastEnders

Wendy Richard may have passed away in 2009, but she was a survivor throughout her entire life. She fought hard against her breast cancer diagnosis, struggled with her father’s suicide, and was physically abused by one of her four husbands. In the meantime, she became a British TV legend with 64 acting credits to her name.

She appeared in The Newcomers, Are You Being Served?, and Dad’s Army. But she’s mainly known for her role as Pauline Fowler in EastEnders. She made it to over 2,000 episodes of the soap between 1985 and 2006 and received the British Soap Awards Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007.
