Meet The Flawless Superstars of the British Soap Opera World

Adam Woodyatt – Ian Beale from EastEnders

Adam Woodyatt is the longest-serving cast member of the EastEnders soap, and he’s been playing the character of Ian Beale since the series’ very first episode, in 1985. Today, it’s almost impossible to imagine the iconic soap without the equally iconic Woodyatt, who’s portrayed Ian Beale in a whopping 3,963 episodes!

Beale’s final days at EastEnders may have aired in 2021, though. Last year, it was confirmed that Woodyatt wanted to take a much-deserved break from the soap and asked for his character to be written out. A father of two, Woodyatt has also appeared in the 2019 edition of Celebrity Masterchef as a contestant.
