Kanye West Finally Apologizes For the VMA Scene

One of the most awkward and cringy moments of award show history was at the 2009 MTV VMAs. Taylor Swift was up on the stage to receive the Best Female Video honor for her song “You Belong with Me” when Kanye West interrupted her speech and said Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time.

While the audience was confused and ashamed, West probably realized his mistake as well. So, when he appeared on Jay Leno’s new talk show, he quickly apologized for that moment. However, things turned melancholic when Leno asked West how his deceased mother would’ve felt about that.
