The Role That Almost Broke Jesse Eisenberg’s Career
Jesse Eisenberg hit the big time in 2010, getting widespread praise for his brilliant portrayal of ‘Mark Zuckerberg’ in “The Social Network.” But years after the iconic role, he decided to play yet another famous billionaire: the supervillain ‘Lex Luthor’ in 2016’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”
Last seen in 2021’s “Zach Snyder’s Justice League,” Eisenberg’s portrayal of ‘Lex Luthor’ wasn’t a big hit among comic book fans. He was considered to be too young for the role and was accused of being too playful. But to be fair, Eisenberg’s failure to deliver a convincing ‘Luthor’ has more to do with poor casting than poor acting.
