Meg Ryan Wanted to Grow Outside of Hollywood

Praised by Jennifer Lopez in a 2022 interview shared by The Economic Times, Meg Ryan was once one of Hollywood’s greatest female stars. The rom-com queen starred in classics as beloved as “When Harry Met Sally…,” “You’ve Got Mail,” and “Sleepless in Seattle.” But then, she stopped doing movies altogether.

In a tell-it-all conversation with The New York Times, Ryan admitted she felt “burned out” as an actress and mentioned that she needed “space to grow outside of Hollywood.” Famous from a very young age, this Connecticut native decided it was time to put her happiness first and kiss goodbye to show business.
