Barbara Knox – 87, Oldham

Barbara Knox worked regular jobs before she entered the acting scene in the ’60s. She bid farewell to financial woes forever once she landed her role as Rita Tanner on Coronation Street. After several decades on the series, she’s still part of the current cast as of 2021.

Knox may not have many credits on her acting portfolio, but it looks like her run with Coronation Street was enough for her to remain famous and busy all these years. During the Birthday Honours in 2010, she became a Member of the Order of the British Empire.
