Anne Reid – 86, Newcastle upon Tyne

Anne Reid’s got placed on the radar once she joined the cast of Coronation Street in the ’60s. She had a decade-long run with the soap opera, but she later experienced more success with her role in Last Tango in Halifax.

Reid also made a name for herself on the big screen, winning a London Film Critics Circle Award for her performance in 2003’s The Mother. She didn’t suffer any severe health issues yet, so she is free to continue working for now. In 2021, she starred in SAS: Red Notice.
