Leonard Whiting – 71, London
Leonard Whiting loved singing while growing up, and his voice was among the reasons he was discovered in the acting industry. The most prominent performance he had in his career was in the Romeo and Juliet movie of Franco Zeffirelli in 1968.
It was his first film, and it won him the New Star of the Year award at the Golden Globe Awards. Whiting did some early retirement planning because he stepped away from doing movies in the late ’70s. He laid low for decades, but he made a minor comeback in the 2015 film titled Social Suicide.
