Rick Astley’s career exploded when his song “Never Gonna Give You Up” was released. The song was very popular and hit number one on numerous charts. Due to his unique voice and charisma, people often believed that he was African American in origin. He retired from singing aged 27 as he wanted to spend more time with his family. Eight years later, he came back to the music world to make more music. He must have needed a whole new bank account for the second chapter of his career. Rick has been the inspiration of the viral Internet meme known as “rickrolling.”
