Speaking Doors

Here’s another example of a design failing despite its simple inspiration that plays on an age-old gender stereotype. While misled notions about which gender is more talkative are still prevalent among many cultures, others find them highly offensive and inaccurate.

One could call this a classic depiction of the phrase ‘men are from Mars, and women are from Venus.’ And while they are indeed very different in their thoughts and actions, speaking in too many or too few words is not one of those differences. A Harvard University study suggests that men may, in fact, talk more than women, depending on the context and setting.
