From Justin Bieber to Michael Cera, These Canadian Superstars Have Made a Name for Themselves Globally
Tommy Chong
Some people in showbiz shall always have that association with recreational substance use. Tommy Chong, a great actor, and writer from Edmonton, Alberta, is one of them. While he’s been an outspoken advocate for cannabis legalization, his journey with the plant is much deeper than one could think.
The first-ever film he acted in was the comedy “Up in Smoke,” which he also wrote. Its story followed a stoner’s journey of smuggling the illegal substance. Following that, he’s portrayed similar characters in a range of movies, including all of his “Cheech and Chong” films as well as the popular 1999 sitcom “That ’70s Show.”
