Avril Lavigne
The eight-time Grammy award-winning Canadian singer Avril Lavigne took the world by storm with just her debut album titled “Let Go.” At the time, she was 18 and had quit school to focus on her music. In her native locality in Ontario, she had the skater personality that carried forth into her first album as well.
Lavigne also played hockey and was twice titled MVP in a boys league when she was in high school. Her second album, “Under My Skin,” was charted at number one in five countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom. It was also certified five-times platinum in Canada.
