Joni Mitchell is a one-of-kind songwriter and singer who wrote about romance, social, and philosophical ideas, with their music ranging from folk, rock, pop, and other genres. While she was born in Alberta, she spent her teenage in Saskatchewan, where she played her first live gig at just 19 years of age.

Even though she was first attracted to country music, her mother disapproved of it, so Mitchell had to settle for the ukulele instead of the guitar. Though eventually, she went on to learn the former later in life. With ten Grammy awards and a range of coveted accolades to date, she is indeed a very accomplished musician.
