Polish Army Women

The journey toward gender equality has been long in the military sector. It’s no surprise that the number of countries that don’t allow women in the army has decreased significantly. The Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland started accepting women in the military voluntarily in 1988.

Basic military service is compulsory for Polish men, but women can hold any rank in the military. In 2004, a special rule was enacted that made military training mandatory for women working in specific occupations, such as nurses, trainers, nutritionists, and laboratory assistants.
