Mullets Have Always Been With The South
The mullet is a hairstyle with a long history of being famous and criticized. Dating back to the ’80s, this style involves having shorter hair on the sides and front of the head while the back of the head is left with longer hair. The mullet was worn by many celebrities at the time, such as David Hasselhoff, and gained much attention for its daring look.
In the early ’90s, the mullet was brought back into the spotlight with the release of Billy Ray Cyrus’ hit single “Achy Breaky Heart.” The song’s accompanying music video featured the singer wearing the infamous style.
