One of the amazing things about Afghanistan’s women is how they manage to remain exceptional despite all they have to endure in their country. Many of these women are quite well-known and respected around the world. Famous names worth mentioning include Sonia Nassery Cole, Nelofer Pazira, and Zohre Esmaeli.

Aside from the high rate of honor killings and gender inequality, there are several interesting facts about Afghanistan. Afghanistan birthed the world’s first oil paintings. These paintings were created at Bamiyan, located in the central highlands of Afghanistan. They are also known for the production of fine fruits, especially pomegranates, grapes, and delicious melons.
