Ana Ivanovic – Tennis

Serbia must be very proud of its tennis superstars. Some of its outstanding stars are Ana Ivanovic and Novak Djokovic, who call the shots on the tennis lawns. In 2008, Ivanovic was the number one female tennis player in the world ranking, and in 2011, she was featured in Times magazine’s “Top 100 greatest players ever” list.

When she felt her form was no longer up to her expected high standards, Ivanovic retired in December 2016. Nonetheless, she seems to have influenced many athletes to pursue tennis! In 2021, Gazzetta dello Sport reported that she could make a return to the WTA.
