Indeed, the 1960s were a trendsetter in many ways. The bygone era was especially monumental for automobiles. They were based on timeless design and were seen as a status symbol. Even now, affluent people collect priceless vintage cars, and it holds a window to our history.

The Mustangs, Road Runners, or Camaros were built to absolute perfection and made to cruise in-style. Luxury cars were just beginning to get introduced with their automated windows, 8-track stereos, and windshield wipers.

With genius inventions and crafty engineers at their peak, the decade produced some of the most iconic cars.

Let’s take a look and remember the gorgeous pieces of machinery ever made:

Only 1,400 of these beauties were ever produced between 1963 and 1965. Its design was inspired by the Italian craftsmanship of racing cars.

Alfa Romeo’s Sprint Speciale arguably has one of the most distinctive features and designs due to its sleekness. With a 1.6-liter engine and plush leather interiors, it quickly became incredibly sought after.

A white whale for collectors, Shelby Cobra, was sold for $5.5 million when it was auctioned. The meanest, fastest, and slickest car promised an exhilarating ride.

This was an upgraded model and could clock 0-100 in just under 11 seconds with the help of a V-8 engine.

1966 Ferrari 275 GTB

The Italian automaker is famous for fabulous and meticulous creations, and things were no different back in 1966.

The flashy successor to the 250 series was widely regarded as the most excellent range of automobiles ever produced by Ferrari.

Unveiled in 1964, the engine capacity at 3.3-liter V-12 remained the same. Still, features such as rear-mounted transaxle and an independent rear suspension were first to hit the road.

This model went under the hammer, and the highest bidder bought it for $3,500,000.

1964 Pontiac G.T.O.

A vintage masterpiece – 1964 Pontiac GTO

General Motors was reluctant about this car; it was their belief that America was not ready for such a powerful engine. It featured 330 cubic inches and a dropped 389-cid V-8, G.T.O. outperformed expectations. Initially, 5,000 models were produced, but seeing the buyers’ enthusiasm, the capacity was upped to 32,000.

Pontiac G.T.O. is immortalized in the song G.T.O. by Ronny & Daytonas. It managed to get a top-4 spot in the list of most sold cars.

Other honorable mentions include Ford Mustang G.T., Flashback, Lincoln Continental, Chevrolet Cl Corvette, and Toyota 2000GT. If you are enamored by the allure of vintage cars, trust us, you are not the only one!
